Stefan Matthaei provides advisory services as well as (interim-) line management to Family Offices and Private Equity houses alike. His main experience is with technology and (automotive) manufacturing companies.
- He has been acting as the CEO of a family office with full responsibility for various portfolio companies in Africa, Europe, North America and all related M&A activities. In course he also took several operational-, turnaround- and interim-mgmt. roles in the portfolio companies, as required by circumstances.
- Stefan has been appointed Partner of a German Mid-Cap Private Equity fund, responsible for the operational management of some portfolio companies. Specific assignments covered almost the complete spectrum from strategy, footprint analysis, M&A of a LCC entity, relocation of manufacturing down to staffing, execution of operational projects and contract negotiations.
- Lately he was asked by a German Turnaround Specialist to assume interim-management and CRO positions in their portfolio.
- Stefan also holds supervisory board positions for current and previous clients.
Additionally Stefan executed selected consulting assignments, most notably in the field of electrical mobility, electronic manufacturing and project finance.
Prior to being self employed Stefan gained more than 17 years of strategy consulting experience, lately as Director at ADL, with a focus on Automotive and Manufacturing Industries, prior to that as Partner at PWC heading the German Transaction Services Strategy Group and initially as Director/Sen.-Mgr. global automotive practice at Bain & Company. He started his career at BMW in product development.
Stefan holds a diploma in Engineering from the Technical University of Hamburg and earned an MBA at INSEAD, Fontainebleau.
